Aziel’s disruptive visit the previous night had left Stella perpetually uneasy.

It was Aziel, who had created a scene at the hospital last night.
But he looked a far cry from his usual arrogant demeanor. One of his eyes were swollen. His mouth was bloody and his shirt was tattered with most of its buttons missing. He looked utterly humiliated.
Stella was at a loss for words.
“Mr. Clark had someone deal with Aziel after his antics last night,”
Flossie explained.
“He also asked me to assist in upgrading your grandfather’s ward this morning.”
Stella pressed her lips together and lowered her head.
“Whatever the issue is between you two, Mr. Clark genuinely concerned for you,” Flossie said.
“Considering what he’s done, maybe give him an opportunity to explain himself. He’s not a bad person.”
Stella seemed torn, her thoughts in disarray.

“I’ll consider your advice, but only after Grandpa’s surgery,” she finally replied.
The next morning, Clint was wheeled into the operating room.
Before they parted, Stella gripped his hand reassuringly.
